I only have the first book in the Kampung Boy series, but i love it for its gentle humor and beautiful artwork and respect it greatly for the fact that it is a story that takes place in a rural setting, so few comics do that, well so few stories fullstop, no matter the medium.
Hmm...we have enough people for a Tassie comickers group... I'm thinking of getting a Portland comics one going (used to live there).

I was thinking along those lines when I sent out a few more invites.
hey hey meant to say how i was sorry to miss your stint at comic rehab, going back i really liked the look and feel of almost 3d greys in the drawing. As well as the simple/beautiful magic, like a beckett play a bit for me.
meant to thnk you for your comments on mine too as they were energising. Indira keeps telling me there is a 'story' to my stuff, when i get down on myself about it. Nice to hear how someone else reads it.
Hey Tim, it's nice to hear they feel like a beckett play. I'm not very familiar with beckett, but these simple character interaction comics I'm doing at the moment have grown out of some theatre workshops I've been attending on an off, so it's reassuring that the theatrical feeling is coming through.
I'm glad my comments on your work were helpful. What is it with narrative that makes it so scary?
Hi Sarah, thank you for the request, you are very kind!! I'd like to wish you a Wonderful 2009, till soon!!
